African traditional religion as an exact science

You are wondering what we mean by the title of this paper. We want to specifically prove that the African traditional religion (ATR) is a science as exact, if not more, than mathematics!

If it is difficult to define a science, the definition of an exact science is an easy thing. Mathematics is an exact science for the simple reason that it proceeds by deduction; because, according to epistemologists, deduction is a form of reasoning in which “it is not possible for the premises all to be true while the conclusion is false” (Ladyman 2002, 264). In other words, reasoning deductively from true premises gives you the absolute certainty of reaching true conclusions.

The question is therefore: can one enunciate the doctrines of the ATR by deducing them from true premises? The answer is bluntly YES. But before we provide this demonstration, it is first necessary to elucidate some essential details.

If the ATR is an exact science, it must be characterized by a theological unity which nevertheless seems to be contradicted by the various trends of the ATR. Then there seems to be a total absence of texts that can be the subject of a hermeneutical study to establish the scientificity of ATR. Yet these difficulties can be circumvented.

The facts we are using have already been demonstrated in our various scientific papers, so for the sake of brevity we will not expose them here but we will give you the essential references to your verification.

To demonstrate the scientificity of the ATR we start from the Kôngo religion, the Bukôngo, for the following reasons:

It has been shown that the Bukôngo proceeds from the same epistemology as the ancient civilizations of Egypt and Sumer. An epistemology that we call solar given its focus on the divine, unlike the Western epistemology we call lunar due to its focus on matter as the ultimate reality. (Luyaluka, 2016).

It has been shown that Kôngo, Sumerian and Egyptian civilizations are part of the same religion, a religion of solar epistemology whose characteristics are:

  • The preponderance, in the initiatory system, of the divine mystery over the human mysteries (the civil and the martial).
  • Hierarchical monotheism, a perception of theism where the Most High thrones above the demiurge creator and other inferior Gods who are His manifestations.
  • The presence of the notion of the Verb as the divine completeness of being in and around the mûntu, the human being.
  • The existence of spirits.
  • The indispensable intercession of ancestors (Luyaluka, 2017a & 2017b).

The immersion of African ethnic groups in solar epistemology and their migration from the confines of the Middle-East to the South of the Sahara implies that solar religion is the main initial characteristic of their different cultures; thus the different kinds of ATR are the devolutions [1] of the solar religion, religion that has been preserved in the Bukôngo (Luyaluka, 2017a & 2017b).
It follows that to demonstrate the scientific nature of ATR is to demonstrate the scientific nature of the Bukôngo.

We have said above that a science is exact insofar as it proceeds from a deductive process. That solar religion, that is the Bukôngo, is an exact science implies that the characteristics of this religion, as stated above, can be demonstrated by deduction from true premises.

To make this demonstration, we use as premises the existence of individualities in this universe and the law of causality [2]. Since these premises are true, conclusions inferred by deduction from them can only be true (Ladyman, 2002).

The kemetic cosmological argument (KCA) starts from “the presence of the cosmos to a creator of the cosmos” (Thompson & Jackson, 2001, 2); the empirical premise of KCA is the existence of individualities in this universe. From this basis, the KCA evolves deductively using the law of causality and the principle of sufficient reason. This systematic natural theology can be summarized as follows [3]:

  • Being made of individualities, our universe is an individuality; so it’s a contingent entity.
  • According to the law of causality, there is a necessary individual being whose presence explains the creation of this universe and includes it.
  • Since this creator is an individual being, there must be other necessary relative personalities like him having at least potential creative causality.
  • The possession of individualities by these relative necessary beings is a contingency; there is therefore an absolute cause which includes all these necessary relative individualities.
  • Being the greatest possible being, this absolutely necessary cause is the Supreme Being (the Father).
  • As an absolutely infinite entity without any contingency, the Most High is indivisible; so each relative necessary being (each Child of God), as a manifestation of the individuality of the Father-Mother, expresses His fullness, the Verb. The Verb is therefore in every Child of God and around every Child of God.

It follows from this cosmological argument that:

  • Since God, the Father-Mother, includes all reality and is without contingency, the divine is preponderant over the human.
  • Being without any contingency the Father-Mother is transcendent, hence the need for a hierarchy of divinities that includes at the top:
    • The Most High God
    • The demiurge creator
    • The Verb

Being the sum total of reality and the ultimate cause God, the Father-Mother, is Spirit. The Spirit is indivisible because He does not include any contingency; hence the Father-Mother, the Child, and the Verb are inseparable in substance, existence, and action. This is solar trinity; it implies that the Father-Mother always acts through the Child, so each Child of God manifests Himself as a Spirit animating an aspect of reality (Luyaluka, 2016).

From the transcendence of the Most High dictated by solar religion flows the need for the intercession of inferior deities and enlightened ancestors.

Thanks to the KCA the essential characteristics of solar religion, the Bukôngo, can be scientifically demonstrated. In addition, the KCA leads to a cosmology that is currently the only “theory of everything”, an explanation of the dynamics of the universe at astronomical and subatomic levels by Newtonian determinism (Luyaluka, 2014 & 2017c). This cosmology can be deduced in this way:

  • Being without contingency and indivisible, the necessary plane is eternal; hence creation appears in a temporal consciousness.
  • But since the creator is a necessary being, this temporal consciousness is necessarily illusory in its limitation of reality.
  • Since the Father includes all reality, being absolutely infinite, this temporal consciousness is only a perspective of divine reality.
  • Since the Creator is a necessary being, the creative consciousness is temporal; the Verb acts eternally in the creator, thus the creator is moving back to the celestial reality.
  • Being the manifestation of the fullness of the Father, the Verb is without contingency and does not change. Thus, moved by a constant force, the creator’s movement towards reality is a constant and isotropic acceleration since reality is everywhere.
  • This conclusion allows solar cosmology to move naturally from metaphysics to physics and to give us the simplest explanation of the astronomical and subatomic dynamics of the universe, a solar and holistic “theory of everything”.

The KCA has shown us that this temporal universe is in the consciousness of the creator.
Creation is therefore a plan of salvation for the Children of God who have fallen into a dark and chaotic consciousness due to the misuse of their free will; this fall of mortals, the fallen Children of God, is explained by the fact that the heavenly plane does not include any contingency.

If the creator descended to the same state of consciousness as mortals, he would lose the manifest activity of the Verb in him and be incapable of creating. Creation happens therefore at the highest intermediate plane. And this reveals the existence of several temporal planes [4].

Thus, there is an absolute space-time, which includes every temporal and intermediate plane, and a relative space-time, which implies the manifestation of the perspective of reality on each of these planes. Our relative space-time is where all our physical perceptions take place. We live in a relative space-time and experience the effects of the absolute space-time.

Since the creator accelerates towards reality, the absolute space-time necessarily accelerates towards nothingness (or more precisely, according to Egyptians, towards its potential state of existence, the noun), while our relative space-time, the perception of reality as it is offered to us, accelerates towards infinity. These accelerations are naturally conditioned by that of the creator, therefore they are isotropic.

The acceleration of absolute space-time towards nothingness has repercussions on our temporal universe such as gravitation, translation, rotation and the equilibrium of bodies on the astronomical and subatomic planes; this assertion has been mathematically verified and the demonstration proves that the dynamics of the universe obey Newtonian determinism in a Euclidean geometry (Luyaluka, 2014 & 2017c).

Solar cosmology is the only “theory of everything” that responds validly to the big questions that modern cosmology (general relativity and quantum physics) vainly tries to answer (Jones & Robbins, 2010):

What undergone the initial inflation?

Solar cosmology clearly demonstrates that the conditions that precede creation are characterized by darkness and chaos since in separating from the heavenly plane the lost Children of God, the mortals, have separated themselves from the real order and light.

Creation consisted in an explosion of light and the fact of helping the non-incarnate spirits, who were the mortals, to take a temporal shape.

Why does matter exist?

The KCA has demonstrated that the temporal limitation of reality is only an illusion, because reality is necessary, non-contingent, and transcendent.

Since the Father-Mother is absolutely non-contingent and the illusion of limitation only appears in the temporal consciousness of mortals, they do not totally lose the sense of their substantiality. Matter is therefore a limited manifestation of the divine substance, the sum total of reality.

Why is there a big gap between nuclear forces and gravitation?

If we take two material points A and B separated by a distance r, the gravitation between these two points is the result of the acceleration of the plane containing them, following the acceleration of the absolute space-time. While the nuclear forces of each of the points are the results of the acceleration of the volume which contains them, following the acceleration of absolute space-time towards nothingness.

In addition, the rule of Inverse Square of distance lessens the gravitational forces.

What about the existence of dark matter, dark energy, singularities, black hole and inflation?

While the acceleration of absolute space-time causes gravitation in the temporal universe, the acceleration of relative space-time towards infinity causes an anti-gravitation which is very weak, but at the astronomical scale it becomes detectable as an expansion of the universe.

Therefore, unlike in general relativity, it is not necessary to postulate the existence of antimatter, black energy, singularities, inflation, or black holes.

Why does time seem to go always forward?

Because the creator’s acceleration towards reality is unequivocal, hence so is our experience of time, because it depends on the acceleration of absolute space-time towards nothingness.

What are the limits of the temporal universe?

The universe is not infinite since, according to the KCA, it is included in the absolute space-time which in turn is included in the temporal consciousness of the demiurgic creator.

The expansion of the temporal universes cannot go ad infinitum, because the more it occurs, the more these ones tend towards the noun; in other words, the more one moves towards infinity, the more matter (which in reality is not a substance but a temporal sense of limitation of substance, the Spirit) tends towards its nothingness.

What will happen at the end of the universe?

The material conditions of existence will return to the potential state of existence, the noun. Because the existence of the noun is ineluctably eternal as a necessity for the existence of the possibility of the exercise of free will by the Children of God.

To those who are reluctant and think that this demonstration to be valid should be necessarily mathematical, we answer them that modern cosmology (general relativity and quantum physics) begins with mathematical speculations which for their validity empirical verifications must be used. We began with empirical facts (the existence of individualities and the law of causality) which by deductive inference led us to conclusions about the dynamics of this universe that have been verified mathematically (Luyaluka, 2014 & 2017c).

It is therefore solar cosmology which is the most scientific approach; because, it begins and ends with deduction; no scientist endowed with knowledge of logic and epistemology can blame us for not resorting to speculation.

The reader will have understood by our demonstration that the traditional Negro-African religion (ATR) is an exact science; because as illustrated through the Bukôngo, the Kôngo religion, whose different trends of the ATR are only devolutions, the doctrines of solar religion can be stated in a deductive way from true premises. In addition, these doctrines lead to a cosmology whose conclusions concerning the dynamics of the universe at the astronomical and subatomic levels are mathematically verifiable.

It follows that the ATR is even more an exact science than mathematics! For besides their postulates, mathematics depends on our acceptance of its basic conventions; conventions such as: zero exponent zero and zero factorial equals 1. If there exists in the multiverse a universe where these conventions are not accepted, our mathematics is not at all valid there while the KCA will necessarily be.

[1] Devolution: negative evolution by loss of some essential elements.

[2] Those with knowledge of quantum physics may rush to show us that this science escapes the law of causality. We point out to them that the kemetic cosmological argument we are developing demonstrates that subatomic elements are real particles on undulating trajectories (Luyaluka, 2014). The objection of quantum physics is not therefore valid unless the proponents of this science demonstrate the falsity of our demonstration, which has not yet been done.

[3] The words “father”, “son”, “man” are used to convey the meaning of the words Kôngo se, mwana and mûntu that can be used for people of both sexes.

[4] Egyptians spoke of one heaven, seven heavens and one earth, this implies the existence of eight intermediate planes.
